Firstnet and the future of land mobile Radio

Date: Tuesday, September 25, 2018
Time: 2 PM ET | 11 AM PT

Over the last 70 years, land mobile radio (LMR) systems have evolved with technology to adapt to the needs of first responders. With FirstNet offering the prospect of a nationwide broadband network, while also supporting voice communications, it is understood that this new network may ultimately replace traditional LMR networks as the primary means of voice communications for first responders. However, nobody can say for certain when, or how, this convergence will take place.

Join us on Tuesday, September 25, at 2 PM ET | 11 AM PT for a live webinar event where we’ll discuss the current state of voice communications technology and provide some scenarios for how LMR and FirstNet networks may converge in the future.

Key discussion topics include:

  • Technologies that may be able to bridge the gap between LMR and FirstNet
  • Factors that may lead agencies to abandon LMR in favor of exclusive voice communications on FirstNet
  • Estimated timelines for adoption based on the FirstNet deployment schedule
  • Factors that may influence network adoption methodology
